Strauberry Fields Turns 1!

And of course, Happy National Strawberry Day!

It’s been an official year since I started Strauberry Fields and it’s been a great creative outlet - or as others call it my creative outlet away from my other creative outlet (styling). Apparently I need many. ::shrugs::

Huge thank you to every single one of you who follow along, who are always asking about it and who’ve shared it with others. You make that much more fun and hope I can continue to excite you with more ideas and things to check out.

Though celebrating calls for dessert, I’ve been having a massive craving for southern food (could also be this dreadful H-town weather) and thought what better way to honor the day of strawberries (and Strauberry) than to make strawberry biscuits!

They’re incredibly easy to make and are absolutely scrumptious! By themselves they’re delightful, but paired with a honey basil butter - oh my.

The original recipe can be found here from Southern Living. However, there were a few things that felt off so made some adjustments.


Instead of 475 degrees (yikes), I did 425 for 15 min cook time. Also don’t roll dough, just mold in your hands and place on baking sheet.

The Honey Basil Butter spread: mix honey, basil, lime zest and butter to create the perfect add - on to an already delicious biscuit.
